What Are The Benefits Of Strawberries For Pigs?

Strawberries are a good source of fiber, which is important in maintaining a healthy digestive tract.
This fruits is rich in vitamins, minerals and many other nutrients:
Potassium is one of them, and I don’t want to take any chances with my pigs not getting enough potassium. Potassium helps keep your pig’s cells healthy and provides protection against the intrusion of viruses and bacteria into the cell.
The reason I’m feeding my pigs strawberries is to get some bonus protein into their diet without overloading them with carbs. Strawberries are a good way for me to give my pigs some extra protein without resorting to using soy or other non-grass fed protein sources as supplements. Plus, it’s just plain fun for me to watch as my pigs eat their favorite treat!
Vitamin C is essential to your pig’s health. Vitamin C fights infections and strengthens the immune system, plus it helps with your pig’s skin and coat. This vitamin is a strong antioxidant, which helps remove cell damaging free radicals in your pig.
Manganese is good for your pig’s bone health and helps form connective tissue, which in turn provides structure for their bodies.

Can Pigs Eat Strawberries Tops?

A lot of people have asked whether their pigs could eat the strawberry tops. The answer to this is absolutely yes! There is no good reason not to allow your pigs to eat strawberry tops, but they should not be in the main part of the pig’s diet.
Can Pigs Eat Moldy Strawberries?
The white substance that you can see in fruits it’s mold and is actually a fungus, which is not good to ingest.
You should absolutely never give anything moldy to your pig, it is very dangerous. Eating moldy foods will cause a lot of health issues such as digestive problems, diarrhea, and even pneumonia, and other respiratory related issues.
What Fruits Should Pigs Eat?
We can consider fruits a great addition to a pig’s diet, of course, there are fruits that are better than others, here are the ones that I consider a must:

–Plums: Plums are a rich source of Vitamin B6, potassium, magnesium, folate and pectin.
-Apple: Apples are a very healthy fruit for your pigs and can be found from time to time in their diet. They are rich in dietary fiber, vitamin C and B vitamins.
–Pears: Pears are a very healthy fruit for your pigs. These contain lots of vitamin C, dietary fiber and potassium.
-Blackberry: Blackberries are rich in Vitamin B6, fiber, antioxidants and other vitamins.
-Grapes: There is no real need to say too much about grapes because they’re just very healthy fruits! Grapes contain many nutrients such as vitamins A, C, B and E. They are perfect for pigs because they give them food that contains the essential nutrients that help their bodies function properly when eaten in moderate amounts.
